GramStar is an iPhone game for people learning English, wherever they live. This page is about what it’s for, and what it believes.
What it’s for
Grammar can feel like a long list of rules. GramStar turns it into small moments instead. You see a sentence, you choose a word, and you find out why. Then you do it again, nine more times.
It’s for anyone learning English, at any level, in any country. You can choose US or UK English, and the sentences are about everyday things.
What GramStar believes

Every answer should teach you something.
A quiz that only says “wrong” leaves you guessing. So every sentence in GramStar comes with a reason. When you’re right, you see why it works. When you’re wrong, you see why your word doesn’t fit. Mistakes are often where the learning happens.

Two minutes is enough.
A run is ten sentences. You can play one on a coffee break, and stop there. We think a little practice on most days does more than a long session once in a while.

Your attention isn’t for sale.
There are no ads in GramStar, and no account to make. Nothing tracks you, and your progress stays on your iPhone. The privacy page explains it all.

Calm is better than noisy.
Each run gets a new space sky, and soft sounds play in the background. If you’d like quiet, one tap on the speaker button mutes them.

You’re not racing anyone.
There’s no leaderboard, so nobody compares you with strangers. If you’re proud of a medal, a streak or a badge, you can share it as a picture.

Mistakes are welcome. Ours too.
With this many sentences, a few may still be wrong. If one looks wrong to you, please tell us. Touch and hold the explanation card, choose Report this question, and send the note. We’ll check it.
